RED RIDING HOOD in AMAZONIA, the thrilling sequel to Children of the lost Forest, follows the adventure of Yara and Barnabe. Sent by their grandmother into the forest to bring food to a friend, the children are separated during a violent storm. Barnabe gets lost and encounters nocturnal creatures who reveal the hidden stories of the rainforest. Through them, Barnabe learns that his grandmother is considered one of the ‘villains’ due to her farming methods. As a plan forms to drive her away, Barnabe seeks the help of the forest spirit Saci.
Blending the European fairy tale of Red Riding Hood with Brazilian folklore, Duda Paiva creates a new production highlighting the wisdom and magic of indigenous peoples, their relationship with nature, the beauty and value of our earth, and the primal power of collaboration.
