For professionals

Come to the Volkshotel in Amsterdam on March 10 and 11 for a series of in-depth professional workshops with internationally renowned choreographer Duda Paiva.

You will be introduced to his signature Object Score technique and learn how to create a powerful dialogue between body and body between performer and object.

Object Score is the distinctive performance technique of Duda Paiva, developed at the crossroads of dance, theatre, and puppetry. Using lightweight foam puppets as living extensions of the body, performers enter into a “body-to-body” dialogue in which autonomy, focus, and emotion continuously shift between human and object. The performer learns to split presence, breath, rhythm, and intention across two bodies, creating a single poetic organism.

For trained performers, the Object Score offers a radical rethinking of physical dramaturgy, musicality, and emotional projection. It deepens precision, sharpens awareness, and opens up new compositional tools for theatre, opera, and hybrid art forms.

For amateurs

What if an object could breathe, move, and feel with you? With the Object Score, you become one team—together with a foam puppet. In this workshop, you learn how to give life, emotion, and rhythm to another body, while remaining fully aware of your own. You discover how movement, imagination, and storytelling come together.

The puppet becomes your partner: sometimes shy, wild, fragile, or brave. Together, you create short, expressive scenes and characters. This workshop is for anyone curious about theatre, dance, or self-expression. No experience required—just an open mind and a healthy dose of playfulness.

For children 7+

Have you ever dreamed of bringing your toys to life? With the Object Score, it can really happen!

You meet soft, foam creatures that can jump, sleep, sing, fly, and feel. Using your body, breath, and imagination, you learn how to make them move and speak. Sometimes you lead the puppet, and sometimes the puppet leads you.

Together you dance, play, and invent stories. It’s like sharing your heartbeat with a new friend. Everyone can join in—no matter how you move, think, or feel. Here, everyone is welcome to play, and every child can bring a creature to life.
